CEO Driven Education

After years of neglect, mostly low teacher pay, constant budget cuts, removal of arts and endless complaints and inaction, the majority of education reformers settled on the solution. Have education run by CEOs and let the CEO fire the teachers since they are the culprit.

This model adapted by our dysfunctional president is not supported by reality. Take several of the counties in the Washington DC suburbs. These countries have great education systems. Teachers pay is high; heads of education systems are controlled by a board of education and they are not all powerful CEOs.

As George Carlin said, our education is bad because the rich companies want it this way. When our health care system will be single payer, we will have a much better education in the country.
