Todd Gitlin Wrong Again

Todd Gitlin tries to make the case for "A Constitutional, Theological, Practical, and Very American Defense of the Ground Zero Mosque," The problem is that none of these facets justifying the mosque really matters and others important arguments he doesn't mention should have mattered to him. As a liberal Gitlin is supposed to care about what the average American wants. Not only doesn't he care, he even denigrate it. As a liberal he should be eager to inform people of the facts, he should have made sure that every piece of information about the Cordoba House be known to the public. He seems to feel comfortable to declare that he knows enough and therefore, I guess, no one should doubt his leaning. One of Gitlin's minor arguments is that "I must say, if for no other reason than that Imam Rauf holds a college degree from the university where I am honored to work." Liberal ivory tower for everyone.

Gitlin is not alone, the whole American liberal camp is basically giving the finger to the public stating in essence: we know everything worth knowing about the Cordoba House. That should be good enough for you guys. That is the lamentable state of liberal America: arrogance, close mindedness, disregard for the public, etc.
